The final event was a huge success for both students, their families and teachers.  The Ramallah Cultural Palace was filled with wonderful energy and support from the community last Saturday.  The children performed remarkably well and we are very proud of them for their accomplishments and their eagerness, discipline, determination and love for their music and their peers.

“Sing” Compilation album of children’s choirs now ready!

We are pleased to announce that the compilation album of traditional songs from each country sung by children’s choirs is now available!  “Cantiamo/‫ ﻏﻨﻮﺍ‬Chantez” recording includes songs from the choirs in Italy, France and the West Bank’s participating schools.

The Dialogues between violin and oud – Project Closing Event

Al Kamandjati Association and Terre des Hommes Italia are pleased to invite you to the closing event of the project “Music Bridges West Bank, Italy and France.” The closing event for the project will be taking place this Saturday, January 26th, 2013 at the Ramallah Cultural Palace. 

The program will begin with a reception in the lobby of the palace, followed by a concert in the auditorium featuring the students and teachers.  The A.M. Qattan foundation will present a short documentary video about the project, the camps choir will sing, and the students will be performing including the Jenin Oriental Ensemble, the Qalandia and Jalazon Ensemble, the Jenin Classical Orchestra, the Camps Orchestra and the Camps Choir. 

We look forward to this chance to come together in celebration of all of the accomplishments of the students, teachers and community over the past few years.

Toolkit on ‘Music Promoting Learning’

Viewable here is the toolkit on ‘Music Promoting Learning’ that has been developed through the project for the UNRWA academic teachers and principals of the eight UNRWA schools in the three camps Qalandia, Jalazon and Al Amari. The toolkit’s central aim is that of being a concrete tool that enables teachers to incorporate music into their teaching of mainstream school subjects. It was presented and distributed in both English and Arabic at the celebratory event on December 1st in Ramallah.
